This classic house encompasses the local spirit of the 1930’s “Moderne” movement built of solid brick with a flat concrete roof and steel windows. The house has been sensitively renovated and extended. It remains complimentary to its strong heritage values.

With a growing family, the Client required extra bedrooms and versatile family spaces. A portion of the new 1st floor was cantilevered to keep the original house untouched and to give a lighter appearance to the extension. Textures, surfaces and arrangements of the new forms allow the original house to remain prominent.
