Here is a concept house by New Zealand Architects, Identity Group Limited. This house has been specifically designed for a site in Richmond Hill, Sumner, New Zealand.

An ideal site, a stunning view and the concept for a contemporary architecturally designed house is all part of this unique package. The offer is an exceptionally designed architectural home on a  stunning parcel of land saving potential buyers the hassle and cost of going through the design process
while still providing the flexibility to alter the design prior to construction based on any specific requirements. The amazing view is just an added bonus.

The location is Sumner, a picturesque seaside village situated approximately 20 minutes from central Christchurch. It is the first bay on the northern side of Banks Peninsula, nestled in a coastal valley with rugged volcanic hill ridges separating it from the adjacent city suburbs. Cave Rock, a rocky volcanic outcrop dominates the beach which is otherwise gently sloping with fine grey sand and popular for surfing and swimming.

The concept house has been designed specifically for the site, taking into account the local weather conditions while maximizing the view. The house is nestled into the hillside complementing the surrounding natural environment with horizontal lines and a human scale. It is predominantly concrete
construction with timber detailing and extensive full height glazing overlooking the bay. Materials are rich and textural with an emphasis on natural finishes. It is designed to be spacious and modern with flexible spaces, passive solar design and an emphasis on indoor/outdoor living.

The house construction methodology consists of lower level - masonry block, second level supported by a high span concrete floor with a combination of timber & steel framing cladded in cedar siding
and plaster composite. The floor plan includes three bedrooms, one study/bedroom, three
bathrooms, two car garage, extensive outdoor living and optional pool.

The home features solid timber flooring and decking, cedar siding, corian bench tops and bosch appliances. Floor to ceiling windows capture natural light, whilst expansive decks provide shade for passive cooling and promote the best of private indoor/outdoor living.

The parcel of land  is situated amongst natural landscaped reserves encompassing all day sun - almost a micro climate. The houses are designed in Christchurch with extensive knowledge of the area  and the advantages it offers. Together with an understanding of the natural surroundings and modern construction methodology the house will be developed using the best materials and building practice to ensure it becomes a timeless dwelling.
